Midwest Hope & Healing is a non-profit organization that provides comfort, support and hope for women receiving breast cancer treatment.  The “hope & healing” concept was founded by a young woman in Seattle, Wa, Christine Smith, who underwent breast cancer treatment in August 2000.  This concept was brought to the Quad Cities in August 2003 by Colleen Borts and her partners Laura Danay and Linda Watson.  Each of these women has been touched in some way by breast cancer, either personally or through someone they love.

The mission of Midwest Hope & Healing is to provide comfort, support and hope to all newly diagnosed breast cancer patients in the Midwest region. We do this by creating our signature “Healing Baskets.”  These baskets are specifically designed to assist women through their cancer journey and are filled with love, and most of all, hope.  We believe that “having hope while healing” is key to a successful recovery.

Midwest Hope & Healing is fueled strictly by donations and operates solely on volunteer power. 100% of any monies received are put directly back into materials and supplies for our Healing Baskets.
